Goran Maretić – Martini is a Zagreb-based artist who has, for many years, been creating miniature musical instruments and stage sets, as well as unique jewelry and small, quirky angels he aptly named “StrAngels” – a blend of strange and angels (translated into Croatian as “StrAnđeli”).
Many local and international stars, through their managers or fans, have commissioned Goran’s miniature instruments, full stage replicas or jewelry. Some of these can be seen in the “Vipotheque” section.
Like the stages, the jewelry is made from steel wire, galvanized or rhodium-plated in various metal tones – from shiny silver, gold, and rose gold to bright and dark copper.
What makes the StrAngels special are their basic, and sometimes specific, postures, the movement captured in their bodies, and the refined, detailed craftsmanship and finishing – all ensuring the uniqueness and singularity of each piece.
From the tiniest earrings to brooches and necklaces in all sizes, the StrAngels are the result of over 30 years of experience in metalworking, as well as a deep exploration of the beauty and elegance of motion in these little ladies – with or without wings – each brought to life first in the imagination, then in the workshop, before “flying off” to new homes across the country and around the world, just like the many stages Goran has performed on as the drummer of the well-known Zagreb-based band I.T.D. Band.
