Who is the buyer?
A buyer is any visitor who purchases products via email (shop@wirestraits.com) or through social media pages (Facebook: Wire Straits, Instagram: Wire Straits), in the manner regulated by these General Terms. That is, any person who selects at least one product, orders it, and pays for it, thus entering into remote contact.
Only an adult person with legal capacity may be a Buyer. A contract on behalf of and for the account of a minor and/or a person deprived of legal capacity may be concluded by their legal representatives or guardians. Persons with limited legal capacity may conclude a contract only with the consent of their legal representative or guardian. The Seller shall not be held liable for any actions contrary to this provision.
Legal entities as Buyers are subject to the Civil Obligations Act and the Electronic Commerce Act and are not subject to the Consumer Protection Act. These General Terms apply to legal entities in the part concerning: price and payment method, key product features, contract conclusion process, delivery method and cost description, general information, disclaimer, and moment of contract conclusion.
The Seller may, at its discretion, grant a legal entity the rights of a Buyer who is a consumer in individual cases.
MAIN PRODUCT FEATURES
The Buyer is informed about the main characteristics of the products on the website www.wirestraits.com. WIRE STRAITS reserves the right to change information, including product prices and special offers, without prior notice. A description of the product’s main features is displayed next to the product image. Prices, payment terms, and promotional offers are valid only at the time of ordering and/or payment.
PURCHASE PROCESS
Purchases are made on the website www.wirestraits.com by filling in the provided form. When completing the form, the Buyer must enter all the requested data. A purchase can only be completed after confirming that the Buyer has read, understood, and accepted the General Terms and acknowledges that this is an order with an obligation to pay.
Purchases are possible 24/7. WIRE STRAITS is not responsible for the costs of using computer equipment and telecommunication services required to access the service. The Buyer will be notified of the order confirmation and parcel delivery via email.
If WIRE STRAITS is unable to deliver any of the ordered products for any reason, the Buyer will be contacted by phone or email by WIRE STRAITS staff to arrange delivery of a replacement product or possible cancellation of the ordered product.
The purchase is made by ordering available products selected by the Buyer based on photographs and basic descriptions. The photos of handcrafted and displayed items are illustrative and do not always exactly match the available products in every detail.
The purchase process takes place in a few simple steps from the comfort of the Buyer’s home, from anywhere in the world.
Product search can be done using various criteria. By entering a specific term in the “Search” bar, products related to that term will be displayed. The Buyer may select a specific product of interest and read the available product description to independently determine whether the product meets their needs. The Buyer selects products from the WIRE STRAITS product catalog, which is organized by product types.
Product ordering is done electronically. By clicking on the “Add to Cart” icon, the selected product is added to the cart. Adding a product to the cart does not mean it is reserved, ordered, or purchased. The Buyer may continue adding products by clicking “Continue Shopping” or proceed to finalize product selection by clicking “Proceed to Checkout.” When the Buyer completes the product selection process and clicks on “Continue to Payment,” they will be redirected to a page to choose the payment method, delivery method, and add any notes.
The purchase cannot be completed without checking the box “I have read and agree to the Terms of Use and Website Terms,” confirming that the Buyer has read and understood the General Terms. By clicking on “Edit Cart,” the Buyer can modify the contents of the cart. If the Buyer agrees to purchase the products in the cart, they can click the “Order” icon. Once the Buyer places the order by clicking the “Order” icon, the Seller will send the General Terms to the Buyer’s email along with an order confirmation and an order number confirming that the Buyer’s order has been received.
Conclusion of the Purchase Agreement
The purchase agreement is concluded at the moment of the Buyer’s acceptance.
The Seller will send confirmation of the purchase agreement to the Buyer’s email address.
The consumer, in the capacity of Buyer, concludes a purchase agreement with the business SOUNDS MINI (hereinafter: WIRE STRAITS) in the capacity of Seller.
The conclusion of the purchase agreement through the website www.wirestraits.com is governed by legal regulations, particularly in accordance with the principles and provisions of European Union directives, and constitutes a remote contract.
These General Terms represent pre-contractual information and apply to the conclusion of a purchase agreement if the Buyer is a consumer or any natural person entering into a legal transaction or acting in the market outside of their trade, business, craft, or professional activity, and if the contract is concluded between a trader and a consumer within an organized system of sales or service provision without the simultaneous physical presence of the trader and the consumer, using one or more means of remote communication.
Means of remote communication include all means that may be used to conclude a remote contract without the simultaneous physical presence of the trader and the consumer, such as the Internet and email.
Failure to Pay or Delivery Issues
The Seller may terminate the purchase agreement if the Buyer fails to pay the purchase price and is not obligated to deliver the product until payment is received, unless the Buyer has chosen cash on delivery. If, for any reason, the Buyer does not accept the shipment and it is returned to the Seller, the Seller will not attempt any further deliveries.
If the Buyer does not receive the ordered and paid products within the agreed or stated time for production and delivery, they are obliged to inform WIRE STRAITS by email at shop@wirestraits.com.
If the Buyer does not receive the purchase confirmation email within 72 hours or cannot access the service as described in the email, they must contact the Seller at shop@wirestraits.com or call +385 (0)91 2224888 on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM.
If WIRE STRAITS is unable to deliver any of the ordered products for any reason, the Buyer will be contacted by WIRE STRAITS staff via phone or email to arrange delivery of a replacement product or possible cancellation of the ordered product.

Buyers are required to inspect the shipment upon receipt to avoid later complaints due to possible damage during delivery.
If WIRE STRAITS is unable to deliver the ordered product, the Buyer will be notified. The Buyer may cancel the order or wait until the product becomes available again.
RETURN CONDITIONS AND CLAIMS
The business Sounds Mini (hereinafter: WIRE STRAITS), as the Seller, is liable for material defects of the product up until the moment the risk is transferred to the Buyer (i.e., the moment the goods are handed over to the Buyer or to a third party designated by the Buyer, excluding the delivery service), regardless of whether the company was aware of the defects.
The Seller is also liable for material defects that arise after the transfer of risk to the Buyer if they are the result of a cause that existed prior to the transfer.
A defect that arises within six months of the transfer of risk to the Buyer is presumed to have existed at the time of transfer, unless the Seller proves otherwise or it arises from the nature of the product or the nature of the defect.
Goods are considered defective if:
- they lack the necessary properties for regular use or commercial purposes,
- they lack the properties required for a specific purpose for which the Buyer purchased the goods, if such purpose was known or should have been known to the Seller,
- they lack features and characteristics that were expressly or implicitly agreed upon or prescribed,
- they lack properties typically present in other goods of the same type, which the Buyer could reasonably expect given the nature of the goods, especially considering public statements made by the Seller, manufacturer, or their representatives (advertisements, labels, photos, etc.).
The Consumer is obliged to notify the Seller of any visible defects within two weeks from the day the defect was discovered, and no later than one year from the date the risk was transferred to the Consumer.
If, after receiving the item, it turns out that it has a defect which could not have been discovered through ordinary inspection upon receipt, the Buyer must notify the Seller within one month of discovering the defect, or risk losing the right to claim.
The Seller is not liable for defects that occur more than one year after delivery. The rights of the Buyer who notified the Seller of a defect in a timely manner expire one year from the date of notification.
If a material defect is established, the Seller may be required to do one of the following, in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Obligations Act:
- eliminate the defect,
- deliver a replacement product free of defects,
- reduce the purchase price,
- terminate the contract.
Rights based on material defects are governed by the Civil Obligations Act.
When the Buyer is a legal entity, the rules on material defects prescribed by the Civil Obligations Act apply, particularly in cases where provisions for legal entities differ from those set out in these General Terms and Conditions—in such cases, the Civil Obligations Act prevails.
The Consumer has the right to unilaterally terminate the contract within 14 days without providing a reason, exclusively for standard stock goods that are not made to order.
The 14-day period begins on the day the product is delivered to the Consumer or a third party designated by the Consumer, who is not the delivery service.
If the Consumer places a single order for multiple products that are delivered separately, or if goods are delivered in multiple parts or shipments, the 14-day period begins on the day the last item or shipment is delivered to the Consumer or a third party designated by the Consumer (not the delivery service).
If the contract involves regular delivery of goods over a defined period, the 14-day period starts on the day the first item or shipment is delivered.
If the Consumer was not informed of their right to withdraw, the right to unilateral termination expires 12 months after the original 14-day period.
If the Seller informs the Consumer of the right to withdraw within those 12 months, the right expires 14 days after the Consumer receives that notice.
To exercise the right of unilateral termination, the Consumer must notify the Seller of their decision to terminate the contract before the 14-day deadline by sending an unambiguous statement to the email address: shop@wirestraits.com, including their name, address, phone number, and email address. The Consumer may also use the optional withdrawal form template.
A sample form for unilateral termination can be completed electronically by clicking on the online withdrawal form.
The Seller will confirm receipt of the withdrawal statement without delay via email.
In the event of contract termination, each party must return to the other anything received under the contract.
Unless the Seller has offered to collect the returned goods, the refund will only be issued after the goods are returned or the Consumer provides proof that the goods have been sent back, if the Seller was notified prior to receipt.
The Seller is not obliged to refund any additional costs arising from the Consumer’s explicit choice of a delivery method that is not the cheapest standard delivery offered.
The Seller must process the refund using the same payment method used by the Consumer unless the Consumer explicitly agrees to a different method, and provided that the Consumer does not incur any additional charges.
Unless the Seller has offered to collect the goods, the Consumer must return the goods without undue delay, and no later than 14 days from the date they notified the Seller of the withdrawal.
The Consumer is deemed to have fulfilled the return obligation on time if the goods are sent or handed over to the Seller or an authorized recipient before the 14-day deadline.
The Consumer is responsible for covering all direct return costs. They are also liable for any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to determine their nature, characteristics, and functionality.
To determine the nature, characteristics, and functionality of goods, the Consumer may handle and inspect them only as would be permitted in a physical store.
Goods returned within the 14-day period must not be worn, washed, photographed for personal use or promotion, or otherwise treated in a way that reduces their value.
During the withdrawal period, the Consumer must handle the goods with due care and act as a particularly diligent and responsible person.
If the value of the product is reduced due to handling, the Seller may proportionally reduce the refund amount, based on objective criteria in each case.
To assist Consumers in writing a withdrawal statement, an informative template is provided below and may be submitted to the Seller at:
SOUNDS MINI, Hegedušićeva 6, 10000 Zagreb, or via email at shop@wirestraits.com.
When the Buyer is a legal entity, the section of these General Terms titled “Right of Unilateral Contract Termination” does not apply. Legal entities are subject to the Civil Obligations Act and the Electronic Commerce Act.
RIGHT OF UNILATERAL CONTRACT TERMINATION
The Consumer has the right to unilaterally terminate the contract within 14 days without stating a reason, exclusively for standard stock goods that are not custom-made.
The 14-day period begins on the day the product is delivered to the Consumer or to a third party designated by the Consumer who is not the delivery service.
If the Consumer orders multiple items in a single order that are delivered separately, or if the goods are delivered in multiple parts or shipments, the 14-day period begins on the day the last item or last shipment is delivered to the Consumer or a third party designated by the Consumer who is not the delivery service.
If the contract includes regular delivery of goods over a specific period, the 14-day period begins on the day the first item or shipment is delivered to the Consumer or to a third party designated by the Consumer who is not the carrier.
If the Consumer was not informed about the right of withdrawal, the right to unilaterally terminate the contract expires 12 months after the initial 14-day period.
If the Seller informs the Consumer of their right of withdrawal within those 12 months, the right to unilaterally terminate the contract expires 14 days after the Consumer receives such notice.
To exercise the right of unilateral termination, the Consumer must notify the Seller of their decision to terminate the contract before the 14-day deadline by sending an unambiguous statement to the email address shop@wirestraits.com, including their name, address, phone number, and email address. The Consumer may also use the sample withdrawal form at their own discretion.
A copy of the withdrawal form may be completed electronically by clicking on the online withdrawal form.
The Seller will confirm receipt of the withdrawal statement without delay by email.
In case of contract termination, each party must return to the other whatever was received under the contract.
Unless the Seller has offered to collect the returned goods, the refund will be issued only after the goods are returned or after the Consumer provides proof that the goods have been sent back to the Seller, provided the Seller was informed of the withdrawal before receiving the goods.
The Seller is not required to refund any additional costs resulting from the Consumer’s explicit choice of a delivery method that is not the cheapest standard method offered by the Seller.
The Seller must issue the refund using the same payment method used by the Consumer unless the Consumer explicitly agrees to a different method, provided that no additional costs are incurred by the Consumer for such a refund.
Unless the Seller has offered to collect the returned goods, the Consumer must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying the Seller of their decision to terminate the contract.
The Consumer is considered to have fulfilled their return obligation on time if the goods are sent or handed over to the Seller or to a person authorized by the Seller before the 14-day deadline.
The Consumer must bear all direct costs of returning the products.
The Consumer is responsible for any decrease in the value of the goods resulting from handling them in a way other than what is necessary to determine their nature, characteristics, and functionality.
To determine the nature, characteristics, and functionality of the goods, the Consumer may handle and inspect them only in a manner that is customary in a physical store.
Goods that the Buyer intends to return within the 14-day period must not be worn, cleaned, photographed for personal use or promotion, or subjected to any actions that would reduce their value.
During the withdrawal period, the Consumer must store the goods with due care and act as a particularly careful and conscientious person.
In case of diminished value of the goods due to improper handling, the Seller will deduct a proportional amount from the refund based on the reduction in value, using objective criteria for each individual case.
To assist the Consumer in composing a written withdrawal, an informative template for unilateral contract termination is provided below, which may be completed and sent to the Seller at:
SOUNDS MINI, Hegedušićeva 6, 10000 Zagreb,
